Windsor, NC (August 21, 2026) - Local reports indicate that Zachary Lane Bowen, 27, of Chocowinity, was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash involving a Dominion Energy bucket truck on U.S.-13/17 near Pleasant Oak Road.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 12:50 p.m. as Bowen was traveling south. The truck’s right front tire reportedly blew out, causing the vehicle to leave the road to the right. It struck a ditch, road signs, and a guy wire before overturning and catching fire.
