Greensboro, NC (May 24, 2024) - According to local news sources, a woman has died following a shooting and subsequent car crash on Denny Road. The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 11:17 p.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of Denny Road regarding a reported vehicle accident. Upon arrival, they discovered Kathryn Garton Holmes, 67, suffering from a gunshot wound inside the crashed vehicle. Holmes was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Holmes succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. Initially investigated as an aggravated assault, the case has now been classified as a homicide, marking the 17th such case this year in Greensboro.
