Charlotte, NC (December 27, 2025) - Information was received from local news sources and emergency officials regarding a serious two vehicle collision that occurred Saturday evening in south Charlotte. Officers with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, along with Charlotte Fire Department and Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Service Agency, responded around 7:46 p.m. to the 7000 block of Ardrey Kell Road following reports of a crash with multiple injuries.
First responders located a 2011 Honda CR V SUV off the roadway on the right side with extensive damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver was identified as Lorin Elizabeth Manley, who was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat. A rear passenger, Gloria Jeane Manley, and a juvenile passenger were also unconscious at the scene. MEDIC pronounced both Lorin Elizabeth Manley and Gloria Jeane Manley deceased at the scene. The juvenile passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police also located a 2013 BMW 335i in the roadway with heavy front end damage. The driver of the BMW, Jason Scott, sustained serious injuries and was transported by MEDIC to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities reported that speed is suspected to have contributed to the collision. Jason Scott was screened for impairment and was not found to be impaired. Impairment is not suspected for Lorin Manley, though toxicology results were pending at the time of reporting.
The crash remains under active investigation by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. Next of kin for the deceased victims have been notified.
