Guilford County, NC (May 24, 2026) - As reported by local authorities and local news reports, two people died after a head on crash on the 600 block of NC-150 in Guilford County on Sunday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the area around 11:21 to 11:22 a.m. The crash was reported on NC-150 near Sutter Road and Summerfield. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a blue passenger car was traveling west on NC-150 while a white SUV was traveling east.

State troopers reported that the blue passenger car crossed the center line and collided head on with the white SUV. After the collision, reports noted that the blue car came to rest partially in the roadway, while another vehicle was reported off the road.

Both occupants of the blue passenger car died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to troopers. Guilford EMS reported that crews treated two patients with critical injuries at the scene, and those patients were not transported to a hospital. The driver of the white SUV was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation reported that NC-150 was closed in both directions near Sutter Road while emergency crews responded and the scene was cleared. The roadway was expected to reopen by about 3 p.m. No charges or identities were reported in the initial information released.

Understanding The Review Process After A Guilford County Traffic Crash

Traffic crashes often require a careful review that extends beyond the first report from the scene. After a serious collision, investigators may look at vehicle positions, roadway markings, damage patterns, witness statements, emergency response records, and any available photographs or video to better understand what happened.

In a car accident involving a head on impact, evidence can play an important role in explaining how the event unfolded. A car accident fault lawyer may review crash reports, medical records, insurance information, and other documentation when questions arise about responsibility and available claims.

These records can also help families and injured people understand the practical steps that may follow. Insurance questions, medical bills, time away from work, and longer recovery concerns are often reviewed together so the full impact of a crash can be evaluated with more complete information.

What Families May Face After A Guilford County Car Accident

After a serious car accident, attention often shifts from the crash scene to medical care, insurance communication, and the financial effects that can follow. Families may need time to gather records, understand available coverage, and consider how the collision may affect their future. “After a serious crash, the goal is to protect long term interests while making decisions based on clear information, not pressure,” said Attorney Corey Rosensteel.
