Charlotte, NC (January 2, 2023) - A scaffolding collapse at a construction site just outside Uptown Charlotte claimed the lives of three workers and injured two others on Monday morning, according to Charlotte Fire and Medic. The fatal accident took place on East Morehead Street near Euclid Avenue, where three workers fell 70 feet when the scaffolding collapsed. The workers who died were identified by their families as Jose Canaco, Jesus Martinez, and Gilberto Fernandez. The two workers (ages 36 and 49) who were injured were taken to Atrium CMC Main with minor injuries.
