Smithfield, NC (August 25, 2026) - According to local reports, three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of South Fifth Street and Holt Street. The collision was reported at approximately 2 p.m. and involved a Toyota passenger car and a Chevrolet pickup truck towing a trailer.

A witness reported that one person in the Toyota was unconscious after the collision. Johnston County EMS transported that person to WakeMed for treatment.
