Winston-Salem, NC (July 12, 2025) - According to local news reports, a tragic two-vehicle crash on Country Club Road has led to the death of a 70-year-old man from Winston-Salem. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 12, around 3:37 p.m. in the 4200 block of Country Club Road, where Monroe Street intersects.

Officials say Roger Lee Kingsley, 70, was driving a 2013 Toyota when he attempted to turn left from Monroe Street onto Country Club Road. While doing so, he entered the path of a 2000 Dodge Ram traveling westbound on Country Club Road. The Dodge Ram, driven by 55-year-old Dewey Edward Maynard, struck Kingsley’s Toyota. The impact left Kingsley with serious injuries, and emergency responders transported him to a local hospital.

Kingsley’s wife, 64-year-old Debbie Diane Kingsley, was a passenger in the Toyota and sustained only minor injuries, as did Maynard, the driver of the Dodge.

After spending a week hospitalized with critical injuries, Roger Kingsley passed away on July 19. The Forsyth County Medical Examiner later confirmed that his death was directly caused by the injuries he suffered during the collision. Authorities were formally notified of his passing on July 21.

The Winston-Salem Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. No criminal charges have been announced at this time, and police have stated that updates will be provided as their investigation continues.

The Winston-Salem Police Department encourages anyone with additional information regarding the collision to call 336-773-7700 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800.

Why You Should Work With a Personal Injury Attorney in Winston-Salem, NC

If you’ve been injured in an accident in Winston-Salem, NC, it can feel like everything in your life is suddenly on hold. From medical appointments and recovery time to insurance calls and time off work, things can pile up quickly. That’s where a personal injury attorney comes in. Having someone in your corner who understands how North Carolina personal injury laws work can make a huge difference.

A Winston-Salem personal injury attorney helps people who have been hurt because of someone else’s actions or negligence. Whether the injury came from a car crash, slip and fall, or other serious accident, they’re here to make sure your rights are protected. They’ll also work with you to calculate what your claim is really worth, so you don’t settle for less than you deserve.

From day one, the right attorney will take over the legal process and start gathering important documents like medical records, accident reports, and witness statements. That frees you up to focus on healing. You shouldn’t have to worry about paperwork or deadlines when you’re already dealing with pain, stress, and recovery. A personal injury law firm in North Carolina can lift that weight off your shoulders.

How a Winston-Salem Personal Injury Lawyer Can Help You

A personal injury lawyer in Winston-Salem knows how to deal with the common tactics insurance companies use to delay or deny claims. When you’re not familiar with how the process works, it’s easy to get frustrated or accept a low settlement offer just to move on. Your attorney steps in to protect your interests and push for fair compensation.

This includes compensation for things like medical bills, lost wages, future treatment, and pain and suffering. If your injuries are long-term or permanent, a Winston-Salem personal injury attorney can help project those costs into the future and include them in your case. You shouldn’t have to pay for someone else’s mistake, and a good lawyer will make sure you don’t.

Whether your case ends in a settlement or goes to court, your lawyer will be with you through each step, helping you feel informed and supported. Their job is to handle the legal work and communicate with everyone involved, including doctors, insurance reps, and other attorneys.

How a Winston-Salem Car Accident Lawyer Can Help After a Crash

Car accidents happen fast, but the impact can last a long time. Whether it’s a serious crash like the one on Country Club Road or a minor fender bender, the aftermath can be frustrating and expensive. A car accident lawyer in Winston-Salem helps people sort through the confusion and get the support they need.

It starts with a clear understanding of what happened. A lawyer will review police reports, speak to witnesses, and analyze traffic patterns or damage to get a full picture of the crash. This helps determine who was at fault and how to move forward with a claim. Even when fault seems obvious, insurance companies may not cooperate without pressure.

Having a Winston-Salem car accident attorney on your side means you don’t have to handle it all alone. They know the local laws and court systems and have experience dealing with insurance adjusters who are trained to save their companies money. Your attorney’s goal is to make sure you’re treated fairly and get the financial recovery you need to move forward.

When to Call a Car Accident Lawyer in Winston-Salem, NC

Not every car accident leads to a lawsuit, but there are times when calling a lawyer is the smart thing to do. If you were seriously injured, if liability is unclear, or if the insurance company isn’t cooperating, getting legal help quickly can protect your rights. It’s also helpful when multiple parties are involved, or when there’s a death or permanent injury.

You don’t have to wait for things to spiral out of control. A Winston-Salem car accident lawyer can review your situation, answer your questions, and tell you what your options are. Many people find that simply talking to an attorney gives them a sense of direction and control during a difficult time.

The sooner you call, the better your chances of collecting the right evidence and protecting your case. Many attorneys offer free consultations, so there’s no downside to picking up the phone and learning more about your legal options after a crash.

What Does a Winston-Salem Accident Lawyer Do? How Can They Help?

A car accident lawyer in Winston-Salem does more than just file paperwork. They guide you from the initial consultation through possible litigation or settlement. After a crash, they start by collecting all the facts: police reports, medical records, witness statements, and more. Then, they analyze how strong your claim is and what it could be worth under North Carolina law.

If the insurance company tries to deny or minimize your claim, your lawyer steps in with negotiation experience and legal strategies designed to get results. And if the case goes to court, they represent you confidently from start to finish. A Winston-Salem car accident attorney can often improve the outcome of your case compared to going it alone.

How Can a Personal Injury Attorney Be Helpful After a Car Accident in Winston-Salem, NC

Even in seemingly clear-cut accidents, questions can arise: Who was really at fault? What compensation is fair? Are there long-term health issues that may not show up right away? A personal injury attorney helps address all of those questions and protects your interests at each step.

They also help with less obvious but important issues, like ensuring future treatment is considered in any settlement and that you’re not rushed into signing away your rights. In cases where injuries turn fatal, as they did for Roger Kingsley, a lawyer can help surviving family members consider a wrongful death claim to cover funeral costs and loss of companionship.

Legal support isn't about starting a legal fight; it’s about making sure you're treated fairly when you’re already dealing with so much.
