Davie, NC (May 29, 2024) - According to local news sources, a tragic accident occurred on Wednesday evening on NC 801 in Davie County, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash involving two vehicles around 7:03 p.m.

Investigations revealed that Timothy Hudson, a resident of Mocksville, was driving a pickup truck northbound on NC 801 when he crossed into the southbound lane. Hudson's vehicle collided with a motorcycle operated by Mark Dellinger. Unfortunately, Dellinger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have charged Hudson with felony death by motor vehicle, reckless driving, and driving left of center. In addition, Hudson faces a charge of driving while impaired (DWI), as confirmed by the State Highway Patrol.
