Yadkinville, NC (July 04, 2026) - Local reports and police statements indicate that a motorcyclist was injured in a collision involving an SUV at the intersection of East Main Street and North State Street. Officers with the Yadkinville Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 5:32 p.m.

Police said the SUV driver left the scene immediately after the collision, leaving the injured motorcyclist behind. The rider’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

A large crowd was in the area for Yadkinville’s Fourth of July festivities, and numerous witnesses provided information to investigators. The suspect vehicle was initially described as an older-model white Ford Escape driven by a white man. Several witnesses reported seeing the SUV traveling at a high speed and passing other vehicles before the crash.

Investigators identified the vehicle and its driver during the following day’s investigation. On July 5, officers observed a 2019 white Ford Escape leaving a home in Hamptonville. Police said the SUV had damage consistent with the collision and physical evidence connected to the crash scene.

Carl Pozyck, 49, was arrested in connection with the investigation. Police charged him with felony hit and run, careless and reckless driving, exceeding the posted speed limit, and improper passing.

How Evidence Is Reviewed After A Motorcycle Crash

The investigation described in the initial report is often only the first stage of the process following a roadway collision. Police records, photographs, vehicle damage, medical documentation, witness accounts, and available video footage may all be reviewed when determining how the crash occurred and how the motorcyclist’s injuries affected daily life.

Witness observations can provide useful context in a car accident investigation, particularly when several people saw a vehicle’s movements before impact. A person consulting a motorcycle injury lawyer may also discuss how those accounts fit with the crash report, physical evidence, and treatment records.

Insurance reviews commonly progress alongside medical care. Adjusters may examine the timing of treatment, physician findings, diagnostic testing, missed work, and recovery limitations. North Carolina’s contributory negligence rule may also affect a claim because an allegation that an injured person contributed to the collision can become a significant issue during negotiations or court proceedings.

Support After A Yadkinville Car Accident

Learning how an investigation and insurance claim may proceed can answer some questions, but organizing records and communicating with several parties may still be difficult during recovery. After a motorcycle or car accident, attorneys can help gather medical records, request billing information, communicate with health care providers about missing documentation, and keep treatment evidence organized for review.
