Durham, NC (March 7, 2023) As reported in the local news, a pedestrian was tragically killed in Durham, North Carolina on Tuesday. The pedestrian, later identified as Michael Lawrence Pusey by a family member, was crossing the U.S. 15/501 ramp on Hillsborough Road in a wheelchair when he was struck by a dump truck turning left onto the road. The driver of the truck, Guy Sanders of Siler City, has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
According to Durham police, officers responded to the scene shortly after 11 a.m. and found Pusey had been hit by the dump truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
