Wake Forest, NC (May 24, 2024) - According to local news sources, a man was charged with driving while impaired following a collision involving a school bus in Wake Forest last Friday. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Averette Road near Copper Beech Lane. Police reported that Skylar Morgan Faulker, 41, crashed into the back of a vehicle, which then collided with a school bus from Wake Forest Middle School.

The bus had 20 students on board at the time of the accident. Although no students were injured, the bus driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. Photos from the scene showed a white sedan pinned under the bus, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Following an investigation, Faulkner was arrested and charged with driving while impaired (DWI). He was also cited for careless and reckless driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and unlawful use of a mobile telephone for texting or electronic mail.
