Robeson County, NC (August 08, 2026) - As reported by local news sources and statements from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a 61-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run bicycle crash Saturday morning on East Parkton Tobermory Road.

Trooper B.N. Bullard responded to the crash at approximately 10:40 a.m. First Sgt. S.B. Lewis said Jennifer Dawn Ross and an unidentified vehicle were both traveling east when the vehicle failed to reduce speed and struck her bicycle from behind.

The driver did not stop after the collision and left the scene. Ross was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner's Office at 10:52 a.m. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
