Charlotte, NC (April 17, 2026) - As per local news reporting and statements from state authorities, a deadly multi vehicle crash occurred Friday night in Caldwell County along U-S-64 near Union Baptist Road, resulting in the deaths of a 78 year old driver and an 11 year old child.

According to investigators, the incident began around 8:46 p.m. when a 2018 Ford F-150 traveling east crossed the centerline and struck a 2006 Honda Civic head on.
