Raleigh, NC (June 11, 2024) - According to local news sources, Creedmoor Road in Raleigh has reopened after a fatal crash on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. when Carnell N. Marable’s car collided with an SUV, resulting in his death. Delisha W. Milon, the woman driving the 2022 Ford Edge, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

A local news helicopter flew over the scene and captured footage of a car flipped on its roof on the side of the road. The crash caused the closure of Creedmoor Road for several hours. The road, located near Shooting Club Road, reopened around 8:40 a.m., though the shoulder remains closed for the ongoing investigation. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation reported that the road was closed in both directions between Shooting Club Road and Baron’s Grant Road, approximately two and a half miles north of Interstate 540. They also noted that the expected impact on traffic was significant. Motorists were advised to take alternate routes such as Capital Boulevard or U.S. Highway 1.

First responders on the scene included Wake EMS, the Northern Wake Fire Department, and the Durham Highway Fire Department. The Wake County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with traffic control. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
