He was also an accomplished runner who recently placed fifth overall at the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, finishing with a chip time of 2:38:30.
On Thursday, January 15, the driver, identified as Q’Laundra Kadri Hood, turned herself in at the Hickory Grove Division of CMPD. After being interviewed by detectives, Hood was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. She faces multiple charges, including felony hit and run, involuntary manslaughter, driving without an operator’s license, and failing to stop at a red light.
