Greensboro, NC (May 30, 2024) - According to local news sources, a busy highway is experiencing significant traffic congestion due to two separate crashes on NC 68 southbound. The incidents have caused major backups, particularly near the exit onto Interstate 40.

The first crash occurred around 8 a.m. and involved an overturned tractor-trailer. Footage from DriveNC.gov confirms that the southbound

lanes are severely backed up. Guilford County EMS reported minor injuries from this crash. The scene was cleared after some time, but the congestion remained.

The second incident took place at around 8:57 a.m. and involved two vehicles. Greensboro police confirmed that this crash is unrelated to the first one. EMS is still on the scene, and there is no word yet on injuries from this second crash.

Drivers are being rerouted onto I-40 to alleviate the traffic buildup on NC 68. There is currently no information on how long the congestion will last.
