Greensboro, NC (October 26, 2026) - A man and woman were hospitalized in critical condition after a Lexus struck them on East Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro, police said.

Officers responded at 8:59 p.m. Monday to the 1400 block of East Gate City Boulevard, just west of Logan Street, for a crash involving injuries.

According to police, the adults had stopped their GMC SUV in the right lane to deliver a DoorDash order. As they returned to the SUV, an eastbound Lexus traveling in the right lane struck both adults and then collided with their vehicle.

Both adults remained in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon, October 27. The juvenile driving the Lexus was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries, bringing the reported number of injured people to three.

The Greensboro Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit was investigating the collision at the time of those reports. Police said further details about the juvenile were not available for public release.

Lost Delivery Income After a Serious Injury

For someone who earns money through deliveries, a serious injury can interrupt work that does not follow a fixed weekly schedule. The financial effect may include missed earnings as well as hospital expenses. A period without deliveries, however, does not by itself show how much income was lost because of the injury.

Past earnings, typical hours and the length of an injury-related absence can help explain that loss. Delivery receipts show revenue, while the expenses of earning it also matter when assessing actual income. A pedestrian hit by car attorney can evaluate those financial effects as part of a potential injury claim, with recovery dependent on legal responsibility and applicable coverage.

Financial Concerns During Recovery

Hospital care and time away from work can put different pressures on a household after a pedestrian collision. An individual assessment can address both without assuming that everyone injured in the same crash has the same losses. For someone whose recovery interrupts delivery work, missed income deserves attention alongside the cost of care.
