Dunn, NC (August 16, 2026) - Information from local reports and statements from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol indicates that a single-vehicle crash in Wake County claimed the life of a Clayton woman early Sunday morning.

Troopers responded at about 4 a.m. to South Smithfield Road near Dunn Road. Investigators reported that Iasia Robinson was driving north at a high rate of speed when her vehicle left the right side of the roadway.

According to the reported preliminary findings, the vehicle struck a ditch and a private driveway culvert before overturning and hitting a tree. Robinson died at the scene from her injuries.
