Reidsville, NC (February 1, 2023) - A crash in Reidsville resulted in five people, including four teenagers, being injured in the accident. The Reidsville Police Department responded to the scene of the crash at 1:30 p.m. on Freeway Drive and Ashcroft Drive in front of Monterrey Mexican Grill. According to the police report, speed was a factor in the crash but the accident is still under investigation.
Both drivers were cited for traffic violations. The driver of a passenger vehicle had four juveniles inside, including the driver, and two passengers suffered injuries. One juvenile passenger was airlifted to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital with serious injuries, while the other three teens and the adult driver were taken to a local hospital by EMS.
Rockingham County Schools Superintendent John Stover confirmed that the juveniles involved in the crash were students in the district. He shared a statement saying, "On behalf of the entire Rockingham County Schools family I would like to express how relieved we are that the four students involved in a traffic accident earlier this afternoon are in stable condition surrounded by their loved ones and friends. We are extremely grateful for the professionalism and quick care shown by first responders and the staff of the hospitals where our students were taken. We offer our fervent prayers for a quick recovery and stand ready to support these students and their families any way we can."

A representative from the Rockingham County Schools also stated, "All are alive, okay, and expected to make full recoveries. We are grateful to our first responders for their quick actions yesterday in getting to the scene and assisting the students. We are thankful that they will be okay."
A total of five people were injured in the Reidsville crash, with speed being a factor and both drivers being cited. The juveniles involved in the crash were confirmed to be students in the Rockingham County Schools and are expected to make full recoveries.
